My thoughts on the A to Z Challenge

First off, I'm just kind of happy I made it through, as my followers can attest to I was not up to anything close to my regular writing at the end there.  I got behind and with any sort of theme to focus my posts on I floundered I bit.  But I caught up and finished on time (yay me!)

I loved doing the A to Z Challenge, I love writing and I need as much practice as I can get but I think to do it again I would have to have a theme.  Which is weird for someone as unstructured as I am about my writing but in order to guarantee that I have something to write about every day I need a prompt.

In the process I found some great new followers, (Yay!) welcome by the way.  I am happy that you guys decided to stick around, it's a whole lot of crazy and random around here.  Feel free to join in the fun!  (seriously I love comments, I get all giddy)

I also found lots of great blogs to add to my read everyday list (or at least every second day as I don't do much when I work a long shift).  I fell I love with Seriously-WTH? I really relate to a lot of what goes on there.  I found myself drawn to Reviews From My First Reads Shelf at first it was because I thought the name was catchy but then I was like hey...this is pretty interesting.

I think one of my favorite places I visited through the A to Z Challenge though was The Growing Writer.  (I would tip my hat but I hardly crafted at all in April and therefore haven't made one *sad face*)  But seriously, the concept was a brilliant one and the stories were unique and well written.  (one of those advantages of having an idea of what you are doing I guess)  If you haven't you should check it out.

A friend of mine told me yesterday that he is a writer because he writes (and he is a fantastic writer) but I am on the opposite end of that spectrum.  I write because I am a writer.  (the voices would drive me even more insane otherwise *giggles manically*)

What was your  favorite part of the challenge?  Did you find any blogs you just adored?

  1. I also fell for Seriously-WTH? blog. I wish I had more time to visit more of the blogs in the challenge... only got through about 3-400.

I loved the creativity I had to use to come up with words for each letter that were not so common.

  3. Wow! Thanks for the good word. I like how the challenge pushed me to my limit, and helped me go way beyond what I thought I was capable of. There were times where I really was staring at an abyss, having no idea what I would write about. And still the ideas came.

My favorite part was reading about the lives of other writers and their experience of the whole process. I really liked Libby Heily. The other one that caught my eye was MJ and the Family Tales. They have such a beautiful family that it was fun to read about their exploits.

    Happy blogging!

  4. Congratulation on finishing the challenge. During the challenge I didn't visit as many blogs as I would like to but, cross my heart, I'm visiting every single one with the reflection post! I am so glad my journey brought me here.

    Evalina, This and that...

  5. Congrats on finishing. It does take a lot out of you, doesn't it? I hope you'll do it again next year.

  6. Feels good that we finished, huh? I didn't have a theme, but I had many post written ahead of time, which really helped.
